Rachid Benzine

On May 4th, Rachid Benzine gave a conference at tigMAÏA under the theme: “Human being. Humility. Humiliation.” About fifty people were present in the room. They actively participated in the presentation, demonstrating the interest generated by the topics discussed and the speaker’s expertise.

During his presentation, Rachid Benzine delivered a profound and inspiring vision of human being, defining him as a subject capable of recognizing his actions and as a storyteller. He emphasized the power of stories to better understand oneself and to reopen possibilities for action. The speaker also highlighted the narrative crisis experienced by the current world, which is engulfed in immediacy, resulting in a crisis of transmission.

Mr. Benzine then presented the various forms of humiliation, including domination, the inability to express oneself and demonstrate usefulness in society, as well as being exposed involuntarily. He explained how humiliation could be destructive or, conversely, transformed into positive energy and a driving force for change. He then distinguished between genuine forms of humility and those that are feigned to obtain power.

This theme sparked discussions on various subjects, such as Moroccan education. Mr. Benzine emphasized the importance of education as a common good, without which societal cohesion is threatened, and consequently, the national sentiment.

The atmosphere was very friendly and conducive to the exchange of ideas. The conference created a space for dialogue, where guests asked interesting questions that prompted profound reflections from Rachid Benzine.

The participants were captivated by the ideas presented and actively contributed to the discussions. Rachid Benzine’s presence as a speaker was appreciated for his expertise and his ability to provoke deep reflection among the guests.
