" We happily accepted the proposal to do a painting residency in tigMAÏA because in our opinion it’s fundamental to build a stimulating dialogue with the younger generations. It will certainly be an enriching experience to work together on a pictorial project for the Connect Institute spaces.

We believe that it’s essential to support the creativity of promising young people and encourage them to study, collaborate and have self-confidence so that they can carry out their projects. We had the opportunity to meet and speak with Taha Balafrej, Founder of Connect Institute, at the American Academy in Rome and he told us that this is exactly what Connect Institute aims to achieve through tigMAÏA. We had to come and see it with our own eyes ! "

" I love and care for Morocco so much because my parents are both moroccan. I grew up dancing on moroccan music and since it is my job now the least I can do is give back to my roots and share my knowledge with the moroccan youth. I didn't think twice and accepted the residency in Agadir in a heartbeat.

By the way, I'm practicing my darija to work with the participants and learn from them as well.
