What is tigMAÏA?
tigMAÏA is a place brimming with creativity – home to artists-in-residence and a vibrant venue for workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and performances. A cultural and artistic crossroads, tigMAÏA awakens the senses, stimulates the mind, and inspires creativity, allowing you to escape the busyness of mundane life.
The name tigMAÏA comes from the word for “home” in the Amazigh language – tigmi – and maia from “maieutic”: Socrates’ method of bringing forth new ideas through dialogue and reason. tigMAÏA is just that: a warm and welcoming home where artists elicit new ideas from another.
tigMAÏA, which overlooks Agadir with a stunning view, neighbors the Connect Institute, a center dedicated to the enrichment of young adults through culture.

tigMAÏA is designed to offer artists, travelers, and other visitors an engaging experience, all while supporting a noble cause. Much more than a place to showcase talent, it is a place where culture, creativity, exchange and transmission converge.
tigMAÏA’s activities help to fund programs that benefit dozens of young people, fostering their personal development and empowerment and expanding their cultural horizons. tigMAÏA residents are offered the chance to explore Agadir and the region and participate in various activities of the Connect Institute.
